VRTX Shared Switch Mapping to Blades
Hello,
I have a VRTX with 4 blades and a R1-2401 shared switch. From what I understand, this shared switch has 8 external ports and 16 internal ports.
1. Why are only the first 2 internal ports for each blade UP and the last 2 DOWN? I checked and the admin status for the last 2 of each blade are set to UP.
2. Also, when I log into the host OS for each blade, 8 ports show up for the shared switch. How do these 8 ports correlate to the 4 ports shown above? Does this mean I can only use the first 2 of each blade?
Thanks
M

Hello
The mapping is covered in multiple documents on the VRTX support page. There is an R1-2401 getting started guide that has it.

I suggest checking the blade network daughter card specifications that are installed in each blade. I checked a couple of blades(M630, M640), and the 57810 bNDC option for each is dual 10Gb. Each blade may only have two network ports.
Thanks
