NSX-T support

Hello all,

Some questions around 5.3 support for NSX-T.

Is RP4VM able to fully read and replicate NSX-T security tags between environments?

In NSX-T these are no longer vCenter objects as in NSX-V, but set in NSX Manager, so I guess there will need to be some deeper integration.

Also, does RP4VM now fully support NSX-T created port groups on a 7.0 VDS, not just N-VDS opaque port groups?

Cheers

Hi, I was not able to find any documentation that answers your question. The best option is to call phone support.

Hi @vzero

RP4VMs fully supports NSX-T port groups but we do not replicate security tags. As a workaround, these tags can be created manually or on pre-configured replica VMs. Another way to go about it is to create the security tags based on MAC addresses of the vNICs which RP4VMs does replicate.

Hope that helps,

Idan

Thanks Idan,

That is of course an unfortunate restrain but in so far I know only SRM of the competing solutions does copy tags.

Tagging the replicas may be a viable short term solution though as you say. So if I understand correct that tag will not be lost irrespective of how many virtual tests, rollbacks and even actual failovers and failbacks a customer performs?
