AAM v5.1.2P1 AND IIS not working
Hi all,
my customer needs to include in AAM cluster environment ( v5.1.2P1) 2 new systems to manage an application using IIS ( FTP and WWW service ).
These two systems are W2K machines.
To check it, I've installed on my Vmware VM all the AAM stuff I have on
the other cluster servers ( v5.1, v5.1.2, patch 71040, v5.1.2P1 and that's all ), and
built a simple FTP site, just to start. This is reachable and usable.
If I create a service using an IP, a disk to ftp files back and forth
and the service MSFTPSVR, all works ok.
At this point, using the executable I found under modules/iis4.0
directory, named iismod.exe, I built a new service following all the
folders IISSites, Datasources and Security ( there is no IP address in
the folders, but as I've seen in the new resource group, this is
probably deduced by the FTP site configuration from Internet Service
Manager itself). Have I to copy the IIS kit from somewhere else ?? Is this OK for W2K or only for NT ??
The new resource group is built, and if I start it, all seems correct. But, as soon as I try to STOP the
resource group, I see the FTP site STOPPED, but I continue to receive
errors like "Test for monitor IISEgl_Exist failed with exit status 256"
every 2 seconds, and also "est for monitor IISEgl_Response failed with
exit status 256" . The IP resource is down, the datasource is detached,
but the IISEgl process resource is always YELLOW.
I'm not able to stop the resource at all, and this can be a problem if I
try to do the same configuration at the customer site.
Could someone give me an explanation of this error and how can I try not to have it ?
The wizzard seemed to be straightforward, but evidently I missed something, and there is no error documentation available about the errors ...
Thanks
Pierpa

You missed the last step in setup IIS module
Refered to AAM Admin 5.2 guide Pages 5-18
c. On the Settings tab, in the Login Info box, enter the User
Name of the Windows user granted access to run the
process. Then type the user¿s password in the Password
field, and type it again in the Confirm field.

Kawin.
