Can't use BCV or R2 as source in RM 5.2.2

Does anyone know if there is a way around the fact the RM will not let you clone/mirror from BCV or R2 devices as the source?  I assume it's built in safety feature or something along those lines, but since its possible to create a mirror/clone using SYMCLI, does anyone know of there is a config setting I can add to have RM bypass this check and clone from BCV or R2 devices?

Here is the RM error logged when trying to use a BCV device as the source of a clone:

ERROR:Device ***********:0441 is a BCV volume; it cannot be replicated.
