Creating Oracle instance

I have four nodes in AS Domain. Virtual IP & Shared Data Sources work well for all of them. RG with IP & DS failover and failback properly.

When I create an Oracle instance and need to select ndoes, it shows only the three primary nodes as options to me. The fourth node which is the secondary node is not visible and cannot be selected as a node in the RG.

What could be the possible reasons? Please suggest.

The fact that it is a secondary node should not be a problem....but I would try promoting it to the primary just to verify. Also check that you entered enough licenses.

If sec. node should not be a problem, then what do we expect as a problem. Could it be because it is in eval mode? It shows me all three physical nodes.

I have seen this back when you had to separately install the oracle module. I had forgotten to install the module on the node that wasn't listed. I haven't done Oracle on windows though. Maybe there was a problem detecting Oracle on the 4th node?

Is this windows? I think I remember something about a java file not being created due to permissions on a certain server as well.

Promoting as Primary did not help but we have resolved it through the resource group.

This is Solaris and Support is also surprised to see this.

What we have done is to enable the Resource Group, check its properties->Settings & Add the last node to the prefered nodes list.

It is working fine.
