Replication Manager Config Checker with VNX5300

Hi,

I'm installing RM v5.3.2 to integrate with SnapView on my VNX5300 to create local snapshots of my SQL server.

The VNX5300 is a unified system, but I am only concerned with the block aspect. My servers are connected to the VNX via a fibre-channel SAN, just like they would be connected to a traditional CLARiiON FC SAN.

I've installed the Solutions Enabler v7.2.1.12 and RM agent onto my mount host - Windows 2008-R2. When I ran the RM Config Checker, the report says that all the host software such as PowerPath, naviseccli, admsnap, solutions enabler etc are correct with green ticks, but there are several red crosses alongside the CLARiiON checks. For example, it states "Array is at release unknown which is not sufficient". Config Checker has successfully logged into SPA and SPB, there are green ticks alongside those login tests and it tells me "All SPs responded within 10 seconds".

I am running VNX Block OS 05.31.000.5.008.

The RM support matrix on E-Lab Navigator states that this Flare version is supported with RM v5.3.2.

I've done several RM deployments in the past, all were on CLARiiON CX arrays. This is the first VNX I've tried installing it with.

I'm wondering if perhaps the RM Config Checker isn't "VNX aware"?

Please help.

George.

RM 5.4.0 is available for download on Powerlink

Update:-

The RM Config Checker log file states that the version of Config Checker is 5.3.1, not 5.3.2. I'm presuming EMC has included an older version of Config Checker in RM 5.3.2 that isn't VNX aware.

I proceeded with the RM installation and I've managed to create a number of successful replica jobs, so it appears to be working as advertised :-)

Thanks for letting me know the RM 5.4.0 has been released.

I just looked through the 5.4.0 Release Notes and Admin Guide and there's no mention of whether or not they've rectified the Config Checker/VNX issue.
