Rm not releasing port 6543
I am noticing since the upgrade to rm sp1 that port 6543 is not being released after the software runs causing it to fail the next day when it run because the port is in use. Any suggestions?

Port 6543 is the data port and since sp1, RM keeps that data port open once the RM IRCCD client service is started, so that no other application can "grab" it which ends up causing RM jobs to fail.
As it is a low port, available to the portmapper, anything can use that port, some apps like Exchange are port intensive and have been known in many occassions to "steal" that port. Reserving the port has no implications to other applications.
I think the issue you are seeing may not be related to the port staying open (unless a port scanner is knocking it down?)
Cheers
James.
