VNX 5300 Replication issue with NFS partition..never syncing ?
Hello All,
We have a configuration where we have two sites each with an EMC VNX 5300. Between the two sites we recently got installed a faster 10MB connection.
@ the main site there is three VMWARE ESX 4.1 Hosts that are running about 10 Windows Server VM's. There are a few SQL servers with very small databases...less than 2 GB each.
The issue we are having is getting our two sits nfs partitions to sync. We have no problem with our CIFS shares. The NFS partition does contain our VM's.
When we first powered up the faster 10MB circuit our sync rate increased but we ran into an issue where the replication never goes below 53.4 GB...? It just reaches the expected sync date and then extends the date by one day and is stuck @ 53.4 GB.
Prior to the faster 10MB replication sync circuit we had an unreliable T1 connection that wasn't keeping up. and the T1 circuit was going down several times.
I'm wondering if we don't just need to completely wipe out all previous sync information and start over since we go this new circuit.?
Also what would be normal policy for the Time Out Of Sync variable... is 15 minutes too small for 10 VM's?
The current total transfer size is 396GB....but like I mentioned it never goes below 53.4 GB.
The NFS partition currently is
Capacity: |
742.2 GB |
|
Used: |
657.1 GB |
(89%) |
Free: |
85.1 GB |
(11%) |
Any ideas?
Thanks.
