Memory Timings
​ I've got DDR2 Pc5300 with timings of 4-4-4-12, my Dell keeps defaulting these to what the factory settings were for the old stuff(5-5-5-15). Which is no suprise, however there seems to be no way of changing this, Is there? Are there any Utilities avaiable? ​

what is the ram memory on the xps 410,...pc 5300 or pc 5400??
​ im looking into adding another gig of ram and i noticed at newegg.com that there is pc5300 and pc5400 both at 667mhz. does anyone know which the xps410 has?? and what does 5300 and 5400 mean? does it make a diff in speed? i would like to stick with what i have now so i dont mess things

Upgrading RAM to Inspiron 2200
to upgrade RAM on my Inspiron. It shows it has 512 RAM but can only find 1 256 Card. Is the other one soldered on the motherboard? Also, the present RAM card is DDR 256 333MHZ. Can I use 1 GB DDR2 PC5300 667 MHZ or do I have to use only 333 MHZ. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.​

I bought the system with 1 gig of 667 memory. I called tech support and they told me I have 667 PC 4300 memory installed. I can only find 667 PC5300 or PC5400 to buy. Do I need to match the memory for the system to operate properly? ​ ​ ​ ​ Thanks for the help. ​

M1710 - Real RAM Max?
​Has anyone tried the new 4gb PC5300 sticks in your M1710? Wondering if 4gb x 2 = 8gb will be recognized by the MOBO/BIOS? I know the manual says 4GB is the limit but other dell laptops have claimed the same but more memory seems to be recognized and is claimed to work with 64 bit
