Support Assist Enterprise - Linux

After installing SupportAssist Enterprise version 2.0.0.53 on Linux and registering, I am unable to select a Extension > Manage Adapter as it is blank with no possible selections. I then try it within a Windows System and all I can see is OpenManage Essentials and MS SCOM.

The version 2 documentation mentions being able to add an OpenManage Enterprise adapter but this is not the case and not in the release notes?

Cheers

I too have deployed OpenManage Enterprise virtual appliance (3.0.0 Build 990) and SupportAssist Enterprise 2.0.0.53 (windows version). When I go to setup an Adapter, it only lists the following adapter types:

•OpenManage Essentials

•SystemCenter Operations Manager

Is OpenManage Enterprise GA supported or was this only in the Tech Release??? Unsurprisingly if I try using the adapter type 'OpenManage Essentials' it fails. Error code: SA-20130 - The remote system must be running a Windows operating system.

Dan - This is a known issue already being worked on by Dev, the initial install OpenManage Essentials adapter isn't bundled with SAE, it gets downloaded on a weekly job on Monday's at 11:30 PM.

Workaround…

When you do a stop/start of SAE service, it forces the catalog download and the OMEnt adapter is available for installation.

If the restart doesn’t’ work. You can download the Bin or exe file from: (version for Linux and Windows) http://ftp.dell.com/serviceability/SupportAssist_Adapter/OpenManageEnterprise/1.0/

unzip, and place the resulting bin file on the following path:

If OS Linux

/opt/dell/supportassist/bin/installer/

If OS Windows

C:\Program Files\Dell\SupportAssist\bin\installer

Log out and log back into the GUI and the OME adapter should show up:
