Hallo there I am a newbie on this forum.

And we are running Smarts for not a long period of time. When we patch software ist normal to create a kind of backup

when something is wrong we like to revert to the old version.

I understood that creating a backup with using tar is not working because the patch inpacked the Installshield.

Unstalling en reinstalling the old pach cause that the special custmisations are lost. How to prevent this.

Please can some one help a simple procedure how to backup and restore  when a patch is not working correctly?
