What is the way to get mails back from archives?

My customer has archived his last one months mails and they are not there in his pst in use. I don't know what has happened i.e. mails getting archived as well as deleted but we need them back.

The Vault shows some 240 mails and search plugin displays them.

How do we get these back in the usable pst file?

Please help.
