No Shortcuts were set
I'm pretty new with Emailxtender. We archived some mailboxes, shortcutted mails bigger than 30 KB, and shortcutted inboxes into mailboxes. This worked fine with some users.
But there's a problem with one certain mailbox.
- Task shortcut (>30KB) run successfully.
- Log said that there were set 177 shortcuts.
- When user opens Outlook, the whole mailbox seems to be untouched. No shortcuts were set. The filesize of the bigger mails shows still their original size.
Does anyone have an idea what went wrong?
Why were no shortcuts set at all?
Regards,
Rolf

Question i have is what is your shortcut criteria? is it shortcut msgs with Attachments or Shortcut all msg's? only msgs previously archived? OWA Enabled?
- What does the Extract Log say? des it say Shortcut for each message or Skipping?
- Go to the mailbox of that user and then select a particular folder in outlook and then right click on column headers showing sent, to, from etc. and then select field chooser. we'll have a small window with and with in that window click on drop down menu and then select "All Mail Fields" and under the drop down menu you will see a view with different fields listed. Drag and Drop "Message Class" field from the list between sent, to or from fields in the outlook.
- Now sort the message by "Message Class" field and see if you have any message with IPM.NOTE.ExShortcut or IPM.NOTE.ExShortcut.OWA message class. these classes represent the shortcutted messages and if you see IPM.NOTE means its an actual message.

if you are asking about Verifying the Shortcuts creation in mailbox or to see if all the shortcut in the mailbox are healthy then create and shortcut task and then select Verify Shortcut on one of the tabs in shortcut task.

@Hashmi:
The whole mailbox has been archived before. Then I ran the shortcut task. The criteria was to set shortcuts for every mail with size bigger than 30 KB. OWA enabled.
Great hint with the "Message Class". It showes clearly that several messages have been shortcuted.
Somehow outlook doesn't show the shortcutted messages as beeing shortcutted. I checked if the Shortcut-icon was installed correctly in the Forms Manager. It looks ok.
Any ideas?

Rod

if outlook is not showing the icons for the shortcutted email i think that's what you mean then please go to Tools > Options > Other (tab) > Advance Options > Custom Forms > Manage Forms
in the manage forms you'll see the section where you can browse the form included in the Organizational Forms on Exchange server and in one section you'll see the forms download for you mail i-e Personal Forms.
check to see if you have if you have shortcut and shortcut OWA forms download to your machine. if not then select these forms for Organizational Forms and then Copy them to Person forms. then Close the menu and Close Outlook restarted Outlook and then you should see the emails with shortcutted icon the ones you did shortcut.
If you already have shortcut form then delete the forms from personal folder and then restart outlook and go back to the same Manage forms menu and then add new forms from Org Forms and to personal Forms and then close and restart outlook. it should work as it will delete the FormCache.dat and forms from your profile and recreate them.

Thanks again.
The shortcut form seems to be installed correct. I deleted the forms, restarted, installed them again. Nothing changed.
I then tried HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Outlook\ForceFormReload:DWORD = 1
Nothing changed.
This user works with a laptop. Outlook is installed on c:\. When I log in and start Outlook everything works fine. Shortcuts appear. When he logs in no shortcuts show up, even when they're shown in the field "Message Class".
Any other clues?

Rod

We reinstalled Outlook on the client and now everything works fine. The Shortcut appears where it's supposed to. Thank you for the support.
