SourceOne Sharepoint Archiving

Hi all,

I have a problem with my installation of SourceOne for Sharepoint. I have all the steps followed in the installation guide and I have a few questions.

Situation:

When I try to search in Sharepoint for archived files. I get a ‘message from webpage’ with a warning: ‘no folders selected’ otherwise I do have selected the mapped folder in Sharepoint Archive Settings. I can Solve this issue when I give all users ‘Read all’ permissions on the mapped folder.  Then I can Search in Sharepoint Archive Search. This is not the same as described in the administration guide. The note says that the users do not need permissions on the mapped folder.

Questions:

  • How do I get this issue on the mapped folder?
  • Is it an issue on permissions or does it matter which account you use to install SourceOne For Sharepoint?
  • Someone having experience with?

It is not an option to give all the users Read All permissions. This give a problem when we archive all the mail and sharepoint items in one mapped folder.

Thanks in advance!

Kind Regards

Jelle

Hi Jelle,

Search is performed by SourceOne Access account that you would have created as part install process. This account needs Administrator and Read All permission on the mapped folder. Can you please check permissions for this account?

SharePoint Archive Search has diagnostics feature that you could enable to find out more details. Usually it will be under following location

Central Administration > EMC Sourceone > Archive Search section on this page (select Settings) > Diagnostics section - Here you will have option to select Yes or no.

This should result in a new link to appear (show diagnostics) on the SourceOne Advanced Search Box and SourceOne Search Results web parts.

This will show you which account is being used to execute search. That account will need the permissions that I mentioned above.

Thanks,

Rajan

Hi,

The permission for this account are good configurated on the mapped folder. Also the settings of the SourceOne Sharepoint archive in the central Administration are good. When I look in diagnostics before I do a search, I don't see anything about the user that will be used for the search.

When I do the Search (with the bad permissions, Read all to all the users ) then I see in diagnostics the Archive Settings configuration above with the right user. So Everything is good configured.

Thanks,

Jelle

Diagnostics is meant to show you information after you run the search.

If stuck please open service request with SourceOne support team using support.emc.com
