What is your user's wait times when retrieving archived mail?
Hello,
I realize that everyone's environment is different, but I wanted to open a dialog to ask people to post what wait times their users are experiencing when opening emails. A general explanation of your environment would help too. Thanks.
Here's Mine:
MailServer: Exchange 2003 Ent.
Environment: Centralized 2000 users on 2 clustered Exchange 2003 SP2.
Xtender Server: Dedicated 4 dual core AMD Opteron with 4 gigs ram.
Storage: EMC Centerra
Active Mail Size: 2 TB
Archived Mail in Storage: just under 2TB, 1.6 million messages.
Wait times for users opening archived mail: 5 seconds to 80 seconds.

Xtender Server: VM ESX
Storage: USB Drive (oh, the horror!)
Active Mail Size: >1 TB
Archived Mail in Storage:under 2TB
Wait times for users opening archived mail: 3 seconds to 15 seconds.
