Adding Unallocated Space to C drive

Can I add unallocated space to my primary drive (C)? If so, how would I go about doing this.

Thanks in advance.

Brainonska511.

You could use a partitioning utitlty, such as Symantec's Partition Magic. But, if the C : drive has the Dell PC restore utility installed, then it could mke it unusable.

If the "unallocated space" is the 8 megs that you see as shipped, no - that is there for conversion from a basic to a dynamic volume and cannot be allocated.

In answer to the previous question, it was the 3.5GB restore utility. I don't need it and I wanted to add the space to my C drive.

And...

Are there any free programs that would allow me to add these 3.5GB to my C drive?

There are some, but be VERY careful with them - many don't work well with NTFS. If you want to do this securely, use Partition Magic or Acronis Disc Director.
