Nope.
Before I checked your parts -  if you know you have a
"CDRW/DVD" - this means you can use CD (read, record once, or rewriteable) and DVD read only.

I did a quick search, and found this user's manual for your Panasonic-made drive:

If you haven't already seen this,  you also need to recognize that there are differences between
CD-R and CD+R;  they are two totally different formats.   Same for CD-RW vs. CD+RW  and other formats.   Some drives will use more than one format.  From a quick look at the online manual, it looks like this drive isn't one of them.  Stick with the CD-R or -RW for your personal burning on this drive.   Check the latter pages in the manual - it tells you what formats and which speeds you can use.

You are correct.
I must have confused myself with info from the other format wars.

Thanks for pointing this out.

JoiseyBill,

You sure you don`t mean DVD-R & DVD+R format. I thought CD media only came in the one favor, CD-R & CD-RW, CD+ didn`t exist.
I couldn`t find any information on Google for CD+R or CD+Rw.

Sincerely,
Fox
