Ribbon Cables

Hi all, the ribbon cables in my Dell computers all have straps to hold on to when removing them. I have added a second HD to two of my  computers and the new cables don't have the straps, what is the right way to remove these cables without pulling on the ribbon cables themselves? Thanks.

You just have to pull on the cable itself. They are stronger than you think. What kills ide cables is kinking them (harsh bending).

You can do more damage installing the cable than removing it, so don't force it when going back in the socket, be sure it is aligned correctly before pushing it in.

My brother can do it with a blindfold on, by feel. He has done so many, kinda sick don't you think. :smileywink:
