SA, Inspiron 7577, won't work

Hello everyone... I hope someone can help!

I've been using my Dell inspiron 7577 no major problems. But lately I haven't been able to use the SupportAssist from dell. When I try to optimize... any of the options won't respond... It always says it's preparing at 0% and it won't run... Waiting for a long time and it doesn't move from 0%. I have tried Restarting, reinstalling the program, but nothing does the trick. I have also tried a compability mode at Windows 7...

Try this:

  1. uninstall dell supportassist (both windows store version and dell version)
  2. restart computer and download supportassist from here: supportassist
  3. run and install the program
  4. restart windows
  5. Windows store will automatically install the store version.
  6. Open supportassist

??? I don't understand why you sent me to a place where it gives me videos how to optimize... I do know how to do that... and download the software as well... But  the Suport Assist Software isn't optimizing anything! It isn't working... I need a solution for that!

Graphicdesigner,

Uninstall the support  assist and click the link to download and register your system. Also, take a look at the Dell Support Assist Videos. They will help you get your system Optimized.

found this thread trying to resolve similar problem with my 5567 laptop. support assist seems to have stopped working following update of support assist agent on 01/09/2018. if application is started the opening banner appears briefly ...then nothing. have been trying to uninstall so that I can reload. uninstall will not proceed --- reports that support assist is running. if closed via task manager, the support assist restarts when the uninstall is attempted again --- I'm stuck.

Same with mine - stopped working after it updated a couple of days ago and just hangs. More than one instance would tend to indicate that this is looking likely to be a systemic issue and a bug which Dell need to fix

Viewed video, uninstalled, and reinstalled.  Support assist still does not work.  May I suggest, Mr. Dell Mod and Mr. Dell Mgr., that you are way more familiar with app and system than a new user, so what may be obvious to you is not to me or any of the other posters who have asked for assistance with this issue.  Telling us to RTFM is not responsive or helpful.

Agreed. I have this issue as well and tried chat support, which referred me to phone support, which told me that my computer (that is still under warranty) does not include the software and it would be a fee for them to assist. They said to manually enter my S/N in the website and manually download drivers instead of using SupportAssist. *facepalm*

This doesn't work, and Dell support is next to useless.  Why do you clog these new machines with all this nonsense and then don't provide appropriate support when it doesn't work?

Same thing.  My Support Assistant won't start after a driver update.
I'm on my third Inspiron 3000 in a year.  The dreaded MS Update Version 1803 trashed my machine twice.
Getting a little tired of this.

Same to my Inspiron 5770 with W10 Pro 64-bit

24 hours ago I received a Dell update and the SuppotAssist changed interface and since then it is not responding anymore.
