Support Assist Warning message lacking detail?
Hi All
My PC hasn't been running well recently (sometimes slow to respond) so I opened up SupportAssist, Toubleshooting and selected the "I want to scan my entire PC". The report showing a "warning" message next to my hard drive.
Having two hard drives I then selected the "I want to check a specific piece of hardware" scanning my D drive then the C drive. After the scan on the C drive it showed it had been scanned but had the "warning" message again followed by a green tick. I when into History and again, it shows the warning message. I thought i needed to run a "long test" to get a more detailed report so i did but once again all i get is a "warning" message.
Only problem is, i have no idea what the warning is about. Is there a software/driver error? Is the physical hard drive itself failing or showing signs of failing? Is there a lack of power? Or is it something else?
Basically i'm after a more detailed report rather than just a vague "warning" message so i can either fix it or go about replacing it before it's too late (i.e. I lose data).
I've ran Scannow in cmd, which reported no problems. Performing a Scan-disk returns no errors and i've done a Chkdsk via cmd as well. I still get this "warning" message via Support Assist.
Any help/advice would be appreciated.
Thank you

I would suggest that you go to the Device Manager in the Control Panel to determine the make of your SSD or HDD, if you don't what make it is. Then go to the manufacturer's website and download their diagnostic software.
Check the S.M.A.R.T. values for possible errors or warnings. If there are none, you should back up your entire hard drive before proceeding to run, first the "Short" test; and, finally the "Long" test. Those tests can tip a dying drive into the grave, since they are quite read/write intensive.
If everything passes, then I would suggest that you uninstall and reinstall SupportAssist. It could have become corrupted or "confused" itself.
Good luck. Have a great day.

Hi @Darkreaper_1
Please let us know which version of SupportAssist you are using on your system.
Where exactly you have seen warning message? Is it under history page or on the main page?
SupportAssist hardware scan has some different capabilities for detecting hardware errors.
it will be good if can share error screenshot so it will easy for me to understand this issue clearly.
