Updates To Supportassist Program.
Hi. I updated Supportassist to version 4.0.0.51819 (latest version ). There doesn't seem to be a way in this version to check manually for updates to the Supportassist program, unlike in the previous version, when a minor update is available. There is nothing in Settings that i can see. I have "Automatically check for and install updates" turned off. The main program updates were shown as a banner when Supportassist was started, but are the minor fixes shown or done in the background? Would be grateful for any advice. Thanks.

Hi Mitch1924:
SupportAssist is no longer installed on my system, but I could go to Options (gear icon) | About in the previous SupportAssist v3.x to trigger a check for an available program update as shown in this image I captured in Dec 2021. Does this still work in SupportAssist v4.0.x?
If I recall correctly the previous SupportAssist v3.x would also automatically check for an available program update each time SupportAssist was launched from my Windows Start menu, and it would display a message or pop-up screen informing me an auto-update was in progress if a new version of SupportAssist was detected.
The previous SupportAssist v3..x also created a scheduled task in the Windows Task Scheduler called Dell SupportAssistAgent AutoUpdate that would run once a week and start an auto-update if a newer version was found. I captured the image below on in Dec 2022 and the Last Run Result of this scheduled task had a run code of 0x8 (Failed) because at the time I had deliberately disabled my Dell SupportAssist and Dell TechHub services to prevent SupportAssist v3.13.0 from automatically launching on my Inspiron 5584 at boot-up.
If you can find a similar task in your Task Scheduler and it has run at least once since you updated to SupportAssist v4.0.x then it should have a run code of 0x0 (Successful). Other codes for scheduled tasks are posted <here>.

Hi Imacri. No. There is no "About" option in this latest version, 4.0.0.51819. The Settings tab only allows you to Turn On/Off Auto Scanning etc, System Repair etc but provides no information about the program itself. The only clue is on the initial splash screen which says Version 4.
