Cannot use command symrdf createpair on Symmetrix

I've got a problem when I want to add a new R1/R2 pair devices to the existing device group . After I created a pair file, I ran command "symrdf -sid createpair -file -rdfg 2 -type RDF1 -invalidate r2" and the error message show like this "The requested feature is not supported for this microcode or SYMAPI version"

How can I solve this problem? I've tried to remote the symm and close symm.optimizer but the error message is still showing.

Thanks & Regards

I see 2 options .. maybe there are others :D

1) you have an old Solution Enabler (thus you need to update it before being able to create pairs)

2) your boxes have an old Enginuity (code) .. you need to ask EMC to update the code

Can you please give some background informations reg your environment?? Box type, code version, Solution Enabler version... :-)

i would guess your code version is below 5772

what about if you try somthing like this?

symrdf -sid xxx createpair -f rdfg43_4th_sync -type rdf1 -rdfg 43 -establish -rdf_mode acp_disk

5670 allowed dynamic pairs ;-) .. And we built a whole STAR from scratch with "symrdf addgrp" / "symrdf createpair" with 5671/5771 :D

Siripong, was your question answered? If so, can you please mark as answered and award points as you see fit so that others will know which answer(s) helped you. Thank you.
