Disabling SPC2?

During a HP-UX 11iv3 upgrade I did a HBA Port overide and enabled SPC2 during the process. Ran into some bugs the next day and ignited the box back to 11iv2. I didn't disable the SPC2 override. I'm not seing any problems.

Is there anything I should worry about with leaving it enabled? If it only allows additional commands and won't hurt anything, why isn't it enabled by default?

SPC-2(Scsi Primary Command) This standard defines behaviors that are common to all SCSI device models . This standard defines the SCSI commands that are basic to more than one device model and the SCSI commands that may apply to any device model.so if you left this setting enable it on FA it won't affect the other host which are still not adopt the standard of (SPC-2).This standard adopted in Hp Unix 11i V3 and Windows 2003 and on ESX box.

I think emc keep leverages to allow the administrator to enable this flag as and when require and althogh emc also provide the flexibilty to set this flag to host wwn instead of enabled on the FA,thus you can use the FA at the same time to those host which still not adopted this standard.

Hope this help you and still have any query then let me know
