Disk Bay SPS Cable_Not_OK

I get the fowwoing warning after upgrading diks and adding a new rack to existing DMX-3:

The following errors occurred in Battery Test:-
xxx - SPS 3B in Disks Bay 2B (AC121xxx)     - CABLE_NOT_OK
xxx - SPS 4A in Disks Bay 2B (AC121xxx)     - CABLE_NOT_OK

I checked SPS physically and found that the ethernet cables of the two SPS are connected wrongly with each other, which means SPS 3B cable is connected to where SPS 4A must connect and vise versa.

Now my question is that how can I reseat the cables in their correct position? is it possible to change the cables while SPS are on? or we shall take another safe approach?

It is safe to swap the cables to the correct RS232 port. The RS232 cable is used to monitor the SPS status.

I would recommend to go thorugh "symcfg list -env_data -v"  once.  SPS(standby power supply) i would guess are to supply power of short time during a power failure situation. In your case it is already reporting "CABLE_NOT_OK" and i guess you are not making it WORSE by fixing them one at a time(with in as short interval as possible).

just a theory, let us wait to hear from h/w experts.

Running the "symcfg list -env_data -v" command show all SPS are in normal status and all SPS in Bay 2B are ok. but health check still shows cabling warning. what else shall I test?

Hi Joe.

Just swap the cables to their correct positions.

This will not affect the Symm in any way.

I had the same issue in the field a power PSE told me to do this.

Let PSE do an ACID test for health check.

So, its better to consult with PSE Lab.
