DMX-3 Windows 2008 Core, Cluster

Question

There's a known problem (at least on a M$ side) where the windows 2008 Cluster wants initialize/use/talk to/write to the VCMDB device: http://protegeit.blogspot.com/2009/10/mpio-errors-windows-2008-cluster.html Basically it says, go into the Disk manager GUI and have the OS ignore that specific device. The problem we have with that known fix is simple.... we're running W2k8 Core, so there's no GUI. As a double-spearhead approach, the Windows Admin is checking with M$ and i'm checking here with you guys. Any ideas? Oh, DMX 3, 5771.111 Microcode (replicating to a Symm 8830). My coworker fixed this w/out telling me... gonna post the solution incase anyone else has this problem:

Used a utility called "Devcon" found on the 64-bit 2003 R2 CD (yes, 2003)

Get the Instance ID's: devcon.exe hwids ppdisk* | more

-Match them up to the Symm devices in powerpath or however.

Disable: devcon.exe disable @####### ->####### is the instance ID's.
