How many faulted Fans can be allowed for VMAX3 ?
hi there ...
Does Anybody know how many faulted Fans ( @ sytem bay) will cause shut down ( or DU ) VMAX3 ?
KB462597 : VMAX and VMAX3: Ambient Temp alarms and Temperature Operating Ranges. https://support.emc.com/kb/462597
Saying `` Engine(s) detecting a 50 C temperature will shut down in 6 minutes to save components``
Means VMAX3 has not SET Number for Faulted FANS upon system shut down ?

Each director has it's own set of cooling fans. If a director loses more than 2 fans then that director will be put into a failed state but the other director in the engine/brick will remain operational, as will the system in general.
DAEs and some types of MIBEs have their own cooling fans as well.
