that solution will work as long as you use non-raid5 BCV, it has to be a 2-way mirror BCV.  I am afraid you will need to cancel your existing BCV relationship between STD and BCV devices. Resize STD and BCV and then perform full establish. You can try to extend without canceling first but i think it will give you an error saying that existing session needs to be canceled.

Could I execute  above command, and then extend relating BCV volumes without destroying BCV relationship first?

I am new at symmetrix platform.

Could you share some coomand about add hyper disk to existing BCV volumes?

what Dynamox trying to say is you may not be able to extend the meta while they are already BCV paired. I would say you test this on another set of luns to be sure.

As the Standard is a striped meta the BCV will have to have a full establish after the meta expansion.

As such you expand the Standard Meta with the options you have specified.

To expand the BCV requires you to expand without the protect_data and bcv_meta_head options.

You must cancel the BCV association before you start.

As stated before the BCV that can be used for the Standard meta expansion must either be unmirrored or simply mirrored - expansion does not support the use of RAID5 devices. (nor Raid6).

expansion will allow to use unprotected BCV ?  Documentation says it has to be a protected BCV (2-Way mir)
