Active directory Objects for Openmanage
I'm having a lot of issues with installing the openamange software.
I cant log on to a consol on the local machine, I cant access the RAC, I cant do a lot of things.
One major speed bump is active directory.
I ran the schema updates and it created some objects in a "Dell" OU. They show up without an icon and there are no properites or anythign to modify.
Also I dont think they are listed in the dropdown for creating new objects.
Can someone tell me what the icon is supposed to look like and if it has properties associated with it?
Also can someoe tell me what options shoudl be int he drop down for "new"?

I looked at MMC. I went to add remove snap ins, and there is a snap in listed that has a long string of character that resimble a SID or somehting.
When I click on it to add it it give me an error that says "snap-in failed to initialize" and it says the name is unknown.

It's on the ITA CD, and is an option as part of the ITA installation.
If you go to Add/remove Programs in Control Panel, click 'change' on "Dell OpenManage Mangement Station", and perform a 'Modify'. There will be an option called 'Active Directoty Snap-In". I'm guessing this is not currently installed and needs to be set to 'This feature will be installed on local hard drive'.
I suspect this is all the problem is. If you are running ITA from a remote machine, you will need to install the snap-in on the local machine too.
Cheers,
