Alert mail in IT Assistant
Good morning everybody,
I install Dell It Assistant 8.9.0 on Windows Server 2008 R2.
I configure many servers with Server Administrator and SNMP.
I see my servers in "Servers" category. In Hardware logs, I see the events. I would like that an email in sent to me when a critical alert occur. I configure a "alert action" and a "filter" but I don't receive email. When I unplug a power cable of a server, an evert is generate, but I don't receive an email.
Do you know how I can do this ?
Thank you so much for you help and have a nice day.
No Events found!

U007,
You will need to do the following:
1 Select Alerts-Actions from the menu bar.
2 Then right-click Alert Actions in the navigation tree and select New Alert
Action. The Add Alert Action Wizard appears.
3 Then give a logical name in the Name field and click Next.
4 From the Type pull-down menu, Jane chooses Email and click Next.
5 In the E-mail Configuration dialog, you will specify a valid e-mail address
(within your enterprise’s SMTP server group) to receive the automatic
notification and click Next.
6 In Alert Filter Associations, identify the Action Alert filter that will
trigger this e-mail and click Next.
7 A summary dialog shows your selections.
Verify that the name of the Alert Action you assigned in step 3
appears in the Summary of Alert Actions window.
Click Finish to accept the changes.
Let me know how it goes.

Also go into Preferences and put in the information for your SMTP server. If it still doesn't work, select the system you're testing under Devices, and click the Alert Logs tab. If the errors don't show up there, then ITA never got the SNMP trap. If the errors are there, then check your email server and make sure it isn't rejecting the emails.
