AMCLI problem

I am trying to run the amcli tool but having a problem. When I run the amcli /dv in the DOS, it say the the VxSvc service can not start. Restart the service.  I try to restart the service by clicking on the VxSvc service under Array Manager but that did not work. I also restart the server.  Can anyone help?

Hi,

The first thing I have is a few questions.

What type of server is it?  Which operating system and service pack is this on, Windows or Netware?  What type of Raid controller and version of Array Manager are you running?  What is the driver and firmware version for the Raid controller?

Lastly, are you opening a command prompt window in Windows and trying the command? Have you ever been able to open the Array Manager console and view your disk status?

Are you seeing any other errors in the system log?  Has the amcli worked for you previously?

There are several possibilities. The driver and firmware version may not be supported by your version of Array Manager.  You may have had a corrupted or incomplete installation, or there could be a problem with the logical disk management.  If you can give me a bit more information, I'll try to provide more specific suggestions.
