Best Practice for DELL using SCCM
I have a question that stems from a conversation I had with a Toshiba engineer that I liaised with in a previous life
I mentioned to him how difficulties I experienced with integrating the Tosh Boxes into the existing infrastructure: I mentioned all the “bloatware” as I called it that Toshiba included on their builds.
He agreed with some of my observations, But pointed out to me a couple of Utilities that I had included in my “Bloatware” list that were actually very important to the Laptops regarding power management and Hard drive care. (I forget the exact names of the Utilities, But seem to remember the names being something like Common Module or Power widget, Whatever, Name not important)
What is important is that until he pointed this out I was ignorant to this.
My question to the DellExperts here is. Is there a DELL best practice document I can follow or at least read to gain better insight to this Brand.
We are deploying XPSP3 to our fleet and will continue to do so for the time being. No problem there.
I maintain a Thin and Hybrid image that strives to only capture the necessary drivers (Obviously) wherever possible. I have a few legacy TS’ and Driver packagess that I will assess and update if as needed.
Fleet includes D430/620/630,E4300/6400/6410/6420’s and Optiplex745/755/760/780’s (And other random one offs)
TL;DR: I am successfully installing base DELL recommended drivers using XPSP3:
What are the OTHER utilities/Applications that DELL recommends as mandatory to get best performance out of their laptop and desktop range, if any.
Slightly related but a separate question is: I have looked and found a document that describes the settings in the Optiplex 780 BIOS, Is there a repository that includes a similar document for the above models please?
If so May I have the link?
Your assistance and insight is appreciated.

I will read through those.
I have seen them already, But not appreciated the benefit as yet.

I'm not aware of a repository of BIOS options for all Dell models. The CCTK tool can output what options are available for a given system.
