Bios config multiple machines via windows machine
Looking to clone the bios of one machine to multiple machines. and/or running a command to pull the configs from all machines to confirm which ones need an update.
I know I can run pullattr.py and setattr.py for bios if I have a Linux machine. However hoping to run this from perhaps my OME win 2008 r2 server.
Is this even possible or will Linux be the only true option?
thanks

thanks. I've actually just found these and have been working on it.. the problem I'm running into now is that I can pull via ome and recite the bios config.. when edit one parameter and try to push it back it says complete but doesn't change anything nor does anything go into pending status.
it looks to fail on the vflash when pulling as at the end of my ini file I have
[vFlash]
then nothing else. if I remove that parameter and save the file then I can push the config file back out to the same system with one parameter changed and it runs then reboots the server to complete the change.

Hello.
See page 23: http://en.community.dell.com/techcenter/extras/m/white_papers/20360840.aspx
Here is the link to the Recite tool which runs in Windows or linux:

You might be able to utilize these resources to accomplish your task.

Hi.
There is an alternative to the above approach. With Lifecycle Controller 2 version 1.2, a snapshot of the system configuration can be captured to XML file format and exported to a network share. This file can then be tweaked to change one or multiple configuration settings spanning different device classes and can be imported on to one or more target systems, thus causing the configuration changes on the target systems. This document helps the reader understand the various sections in a generated XML snapshot and also touches on attribute dependencies and commented attributes.
