Can't log in - Session Expired

Every time I try to log in to IT Assistant I get an error message saying "Session has expired. Log in again."  (then some stuff about how to configure timeout via preferences).

I have rebooted, tried different administrative users, cleared my cookies and temporary internet files, tried via different logons, locally on the console and via rdp.  All the same error.

Accessing from a different machine worked.  That should at least be in the error message.

Have you tried clearing the Java applet cache from  Control Panel->Java (if you are on Windows). U could also try accessing the IT Assistant UI from a different machine to see if the issue is with the cached objects in the browser...

I tried this and it didn't work:

To rectify this issue in Windows, perform the following steps:

  1. Click the Start button. Point to SettingsControl PanelJava.
  2. In the Java tab, click View in the Java Applet Runtime Settings section.
  3. Pass this parameter to Java Runtime Parameters:

-Djava.net.preferIPv6Addresses=true

I am running Windows Server 2003 Standard.  IPv6 is not installed or enabled.

From the FAQ in ITA User's Guide:

See the second question in this table, whether it applies to your installation? You may want to try setting the " java.net.preferIPv6Addresses" property as mentioned on that page.

What is your operating system on that system?

I tried clearing the java cache but still have the same problem when trying to access from the same server its running on.  I tried updating Java to latest version and still the same problem.

Ensure the cookies are enabled, ITA address is added to Trusted Sites zone in IE.

You may want to try the below steps:

Use the desktop icon (which uses the hostname of the system to log in - https://hostname:2607 ...)
Or
Open a browser and manually try https://127.0.0.1:2607 (substitute correct port number if you changed it)
Or
Open a browser and manually try https://localhost:2607
Or
Try using a different browser (Firefox) on the same system and attempt to log-in.

I have same problem:

no ip6 (windows server 2003, ent)

cleared java cache

uninstalled/reinstalled both Java and ITA

System was fine.  Moved to another location (along with mgmt nodes servers), all came up okay (we did change IP addressing).  Not sure when the problem started.  Any new ideas?  Dell?

I figured out the issue-

We have 2 NICs in this server, both on the same subnet.  When I disabled one I was able to log in.  While this fixed the issue, I do not consider this a fix.  Dell- please include this fix in your next release.  I cannot leave this nic disabled.

Since you have 2 NIC's in the same subnet, did you configure Default Gateway for both of them (pointing to the same address)? In fact, Windows probably would have flagged a warning when you configured the same default gateway for both NIC's.

If yes, removing the default gateway for one of them might solve the issue.
