can't push Altiris agent

I'm working with DMC in test and I have to admit, I'm confused.

The server is able to push the agent to anything on it's own subnet but, it won't work on any of the other subnets.

I get the "no network provider accepted the given network path" message in the console.

I've seen this posted before and the solutions all spoke of firewalls. I've made sure that the firewalls are turned off on the target machines.

We are running a DMZ to protect our server subnets and I've made the DMC server a member of the admin group to allow unrestricted acces.

Also, I really haven't found anything in the documentation regarding this issue.

I'm really stuck. Anyone have any suggestions about what I might have missed?

Thanks

Hi and thanks for the post.

What OS are you trying to get the agent on to?  If Unix, you may review kb.altiris.com #20070.

Anyway...be sure that you can ping via FQDN both _from_ DMC to the managed node and _from_ the managed node to DMC server (via FQDN!).  That's important.

Also please review the FAQ item #16.5 for another common problem with pushing the agent.  One other idea is to try and use the 'pull' technique on one of the questionable servers, just to see if it yields any different result.

P.S. I generally spend my time over in the DMC specific forum.  So you may consider using this for any new posts.  Thx!

Rob

Thanks for the reply. I should have been more specific in my first post.

I can ping the FQDN both ways; from the DMC server and back from the target box.

I'm trying to push just to win2k3 server right now, and it can pull the agent.

I'll start reading through these docs.
