Dell 2650 starting Server without Power button

Hi There,

I have a Dell 2650 and new to servers etc, I am trying to be able to achieve the following:   I have disabled the Power switch on the front console so that if I lose power it will reboot automatically without using the power button. However the idea is that I would like to be able to shut down the server with my remote power reboot switch to turn off the power. However then when I wish to use again I remotely log back into the Power reboot switch, turn on the power to the Server however at present it will then wait for me to push the on button on the front of the device before it will boot up, is there any way that I can disable this so that when the power is turned on it will automatically boot up, rather than waiting for the power button to be depressed. As the only option I have at present would be leave the server running which I really do not wish to do as I use it occasionally for study etc, and only have remote access to it. The other option which is not really an option is to remotely turn off the power with the server running  which would not take it down cleanly, however when I log back in and restore the power to the server it would then reboot back in automatically..I am trying to achieve this but in a clean way ......

Thanks for posting!  If you want to remotely power up the server, set up the ERA (Embedded Remote Access) controller that comes standard with all PowerEdge 2650's.  There is an extra NIC port on the back of the server with a wrench icon on it.  If you plug in a network cable, and set up the ERA, you will be able to login to the ERA remotely and power up the server from there.
