I actually got a response from ehood about the issue and it fixed my problem. I'm running a bunch of vmware servers with virtual network cards that have the same mac address. It seems that openmanage removes machines with the same mac address because it thinks it's coming across duplicate machines. Anyway, here is the doc. Check pages 38-39 http://www.dell.com/downloads/global/solutions/DiscoveryWhitepaper_Final.pdf
Yep, that part was on page 33 I think. Basically all the changes listed in this part of the doc pertain to
dconfig.ini which is located in your it assistant's config directory (C:\Program Files\Dell\OpenManage\IT Assistant\configuration)

I'm having the exact same problem. Did you ever find a resolution?
Thanks,

I ended up adding ELIMINATE_DUPLICATE_NAMES=0
