Error after installing Server Administrator

Question

After installing the Server Administrator tool on a PE 2650 server (OS=Windows Server 2003), I got the following error message:   .................................................................. An undefined error occurred. Server Administrator has not been installed or upgraded.  No Data Engine component is installed. The Instrumentation Service component requires that a compatible version of the Data Engine component be installed first. Server Administrator has not been installed or upgraded.  An error occurred while installing Server Administrator.  Some components were not installed properly. ..................................................................     I had installed the same software to an identical server a couple of days ago with no problems.  I'm stumped.  Does anyone have an idea on what the problem could be?  Does MSDE need to be installed on the server?   Regards,   Steve

No, MSDE is not required.  Please check the omstatus.log, ominstal.db and ominstal.log in the temp directory for additional information on the errors.  Thank you.
