Is it possible to amend the LCD readout without rebooting the server and pressing F2 to enter setup?

Without knowing the exact type of server it would be hard to say. On the newer systems you can do this via the Server Administrator product which can be locatd at: http://ftp.us.dell.com/sysman/OM_5.2.0_ManNode_A00.exe   Once this is installed you could click on System->Main System Chassis-> Remote Access then under there on the right pane click the 'Front Panel' link at the top and you should be able to change the Front Panel LCD Information there. Does it need to be Dell OpenManager Server Assistance 5.2.0 and above for this to work? The servers in question are PE2850's running OMSA 5.0.2 and the solution you mentioned is not available on these servers. Regards,
