Firmnware upgrade voa USB bootable

Hello, I want to upgrade my R610 and R710 servers. They are currently running ESX 5.0 and will soon be updated to 5.0 U3. I will first update firmware using the SSU(SUU_14.12.200.69.ISO).  Already downloade its 10GB. I was planning to use the IDRAC 6 and then use the virtual media to mount the ISO and the retart the server to begin the update. Now I want to know if there any other way to update the fiormware like creating a bootable USB pendrive with the same SUU_14.12.200.69.ISO.  Is this possble? Regards Nicolas

Thank you for the info...Very help ful.

Please tell me if there is a way to check if the firmware has really being upgraded.

In the past, I upgraded the firmware of BIOS on a Windows server and it says that the operation was successful, but when I check on windows it shows the prevoius verion of BIOS.

Is there a LOG or whatever method to check if the firmware has been applied on an ESX server?

Hello,

As I said in my previous post,

I have downloaded the ISO "SUU_14.12.200.69.ISO". I am planning to upgrade by ESXi 5.0 dell server (R710 and R610).

I want to mount the ISO(ISO as downloaded from the dell support website) via idrac virtual media and boot on this CD.

Is this possible? Will the firmware update possible using this way?

Or what is the best way to upgrade all firmwares on ESXi 5.0 host?
