First time setting up a server system Help

I have been looking at a server system.  Linking 5 p.c's, two laptops and a printer.  I was wondering what cabling I needed, do I need a service provider for internet or is that included in Dells server package.  I have never set up a system like this any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Thanks for posting.  I don't think there is a package that includes service from an Internet Service Provider, but otherwise I think your Dell Sales Representative can give you a complete package.  You will probably need at least the server, a 16-port switch, and a router then you can split the cabling on your network between the router and the switch, and still leave yourself room to grow.  The router should be connected to the server and the switch, with everything else connected to the switch it will leave you some ports free for growth.

Are you planning on getting Windows 2003 Small Business Server?  If you are, since this is your first time setting up a server, make sure to ask about getting Remote Services to do the setup.  It isn't very expensive and can save you many hours of work.
