iDRAC7 - The specified repository catalog is not supported.

Hi,

I have a couple of iDRAC7 that now fail to search for firmware upgrades from downloads.dell.com.

When looking at Job Queue.

The error message is

RED060: The specified repository catalog is not supported.

Has the Catalog.xml changed format?

Hello Young,

That is a bit sad, once upon a time Dell used to be a great vendor, better than HP.

I managed to find it however.

https://downloads.dell.com/FOLDER09390002M/1/Catalog.xml.gz

I have a question, if I personally make a public mirror and make it available for everyone. Would it be illegal or copy-write infringement?

Elias_Delta,

During 2022, the majority of 12th generation platforms will be reaching the end of support life.  December 2022, versions of Catalog/Linux Repository/SUU will be the last to contain PowerEdge 12G platform content.

As seen on the support page,

What is changing?

Catalogs

·  Remove after December 30th Catalog (22.12.30)

Catalog with last PowerEdge12G content will remain available.

So you can find the older catalogs with 12th Gen but all the newly published ones won't have 12th gen content.

Let me know if this helps.

Hello Chris!

No unfortunately I didn't get that before, which support page are you referring to?

And is there a way to get this December 2022 catalog so I can mirror it locally? I didn't even know that downloads.dell.com had different catalog versions, I just believed it was "live" and updated all the time with new firmware, didn't expect the Catalog to remove old stuff.

Just because an server is end of support doesn't mean Dell have to delete the firmware or remove it from the Catalog. I mean the 12G servers got new firmware for some disks as little as 6 months ago.

And I actually do have a local mirror, however I have it set to update automatically. So now my local mirror has the new catalog which doesn't work with 12G nodes.

Hello,
"And is there a way to get this December 2022 catalog so I can mirror it locally?"
It looks like it's taken down from the website. I'm guessing the reason is "During 2022, the majority of 12th generation platforms will be reaching the end of support life.  December 2022, versions of Catalog/Linux Repository/SUU will be the last to contain PowerEdge 12G platform content."

Hi,

Did you have any further questions?

Along with entering downloads.dell.com into the HTTPS address, put catalog.xml.gz  into the Calalog filename.

This works for me on idrac7
