IT 7.2 and remote SQL 2000 -> ITA 8

Is there a method for upgrading an ITA 7.2 install with a remote SQL 2000 DB to ITA 8.0 using the same database?

Just running setup tells me I have to install SQL Server Express before I can go any further.

Please don't tell me I have to redo it all from scratch because they've changed SQL platforms!

Thanks

In short:
(a) Detach DB from remote system.
(b) Attach it to database on local (ITA) system.
(c) Upgrade ITA 7.2 -> 8.0.
(d) Move the database back to your remote system.

The following link provides details of how this can be achieved.

Note that for executing step 5 in this link, you need to have same database (SQL 2000 DB, same as that currently on your remote DB server) temporarily on the ITA Station, for the duration of upgrade. After upgrading and re-migrating database to the remote system, you may remove the temporary database.

It is not mandatory to upgrade SQL 2000 to SQL Express for upgrading ITA 7.2 to ITA 8.0.
