IT Assistant unable to recognize instrumentation.
I'm unable to use IT Assistant with my Dell PowerEdge 1750 servers. Current setup:
Managed servers (PowerEdge 1750) running Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition with Dell OpenManage Server Administrator v1.9.2 (om420_win_managed system_A00.exe).
Management station (Inspiron 4150) running Windows XP Pro SP2 with Dell OpenManage IT Assistant v6.5.3, A01 (om420_management station_A00.exe).
Both packages were installed using Express Installation.
The following components were installed on the managed servers:
* Server Administration
* Storage Configuration Management - Array Manager
* Diagnostic Service
* Update Service
* Broadcom Agent
The following components where installed on the management station:
* DRAC 4 Remote Access Controller
* IT Assistant
* Array Manager
When installing IT Assistant on the XP box, I get the following error messages when Array Manager is being installed: "Internal Failure Error Number: 0x80040707 Description:" Clicking the OK-button, I get the same message again. Then I get "Unhandled Exception Error Number: 0x80040702 Description: Failed to load dll: AMCheckReq. Setup will now terminate."
In IT Assistant I set the discovery range to cover the IP range of my remote servers, they are discovered, but show up as unclassified systems. When I click on them, I get the following message: "The selected system does not have instrumentation recognized by Dell OpenManage IT Assistant. System is not instrumented".
I noticed in one of the readme files that SP2 is not mentioned as supported by IT Assistant, only SP1. Could this be the cause of the problem? I even tried to install IT Assistant on one of the servers to see if it could recognize itself (to rule out all potential firewall issues), but that didn't help.
Any suggestions? Did I miss something obvious? This could be a really stupid question; but do I need DRAC to use IT Assistant with the servers?
Thanks a lot in advance.

I've not disabled installation of unsigned drivers, although I did not get any prompts about unsigned drivers when installing IT Assistant.
I have installed SNMP, but not set any communities, browsing throught the docs (again) now.
I've tried both with the firewall on and off, not luck.
Appreciate your help.

A couple of thoughts
MSDE will not install as part of the setup of IT Assistant on XP or 2003 as it requires a strong password. Install it first with the command line
setup SAPWD="yourpasswordhere"
Have you disabled installation of unsigned drivers?
Have you installed SNMP and set your communities?
Are you running the firewall with XP SP2, if so try turning it off.
That said is the 4150 supported by the OMCI. Berhaps your best approach would be to install it on the server and use the remote desktop to access it.

The problem was solved by setting the right communitites.
Find the Product Documentation CD that came with you server, and open the Server Administrator User Guide, then select Setup and Administration, then Configuring the SNMP Agent. Follow the instructions for your operating system.
Then, in IT Assistant on the Management Station, select Select Discovery Range, click Add and enter the information about the server or server you'd like to discover. In the SNMP Settings, enter the same community name as you configuered on the Managed Systems, then click OK.
That should be pretty much it, your system should be discovered now. It wasn't that hard, and shouldn't be a problem for experienced admins, but not that easy for a n00b like myself.
You can also set the default community name in IT Assistant by selecting Discovery Cycle, then the Protocol Settings tab.

You need to install the agents on the remote servers/PCs for them to be managed and their info placed in ITA.
