When you installed the software on the server you would have entered a password during the selection process for the install. The user name defaults to "root" and the password is whatever you entered. Or try username = root with a blank password. If you then get that working, you can Add a user in IT Assistant, with your required username and password.

I am also having this problem, and the default of root with no password is not working.
I am running the versions of software from the ver4.3 Systems Management CD.
