ItAssistant Alerts
Hello,
I have just started getting a critical alert on one system indicating the server is down. It has happened for the past two nights, beginning at 5pm, and then another alert is recorded at 6pm saying the system is back up.
The server is not actually down during this time, but I can't figure out why the alerts just began (no new installations or maintenance done since early Feb when I replaced the system board), what's prompting the alert or how to ignore the alerts without ignoring REAL system down alerts from this server.
What I did find was some entries in the Event Log that raised my eyebrows. They are as follows:
IN THE SYSTEM LOG:
Event Type: Error
Event Source: NETLOGON
Event Category: None

An update . . . .I am thinking because I replaced the system board that DNS doesn't know what to do with this server anymore. There were some MOM errors last night that indicate issues with the domain communications. I am going to try removing the server from the domain, deleting the dns entries in both the Forward and Reverse lookup zones, then joining the server back into the domain. I will post my results.

I did not remove and readd to dns table, but the removing and readding the system to the domain did no good.

Follow-Up: It turned out to be a network communications issue!
All is well now,
