ITAssistant Database Error (suddenly this morning).

After working perfactly fine for about a week this Monday the OpenManage IT Assistant page gave the following popup error message:

Error 1064

Error executing the SQL Statement:SELECT TaskCategory.CategoryId,TaskCategory.CategoryName FROM TaskCategory WHERE TaskCategory.CategoryId in (select TypeCategoryId from UserTasksView)
Error:
SQL_ERROR results:
SQL Error State: 08S01,
Native Error Code: 0,
ODBC Error Text: [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver]Communication link failure

No significant Errors in SQL Log and or Windows Application/System/Security logs.

ITAssis database itself is very small (10MB) no updates of anykind were applied to the server.

The SQL Server is 2005 - 9.00.3054.00. Latest ITAssistant downloaded from Dell on Win2K3+SP2

Any idea on how to resolve it ?

I would try restarting the two ITA services (DSM ITA Connection Service and DSM IT Assistant Network Monitor). Looks like the connection to the IT Assistant database from these services were lost and it was not able to reconnect.
