hi, I have tried the Native, I do not see option HTML 5 and I have tried chrome, firefox, and edge also installed JAVA on mac/w11 but still getting errors:
on MAC, I get the following error: net.sourceforge.jnlp.LaunchException: Fatal: Read Error: Could not read or parse the JNLP file Caused by: java.io.FileNotFoundException:
on windows, the error is : unable to launch the application and when I looked at the details, one solution that I found was on Dell: https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-us/000210820/nmc-ui-unable-to-launch-application-unsigned-application-unrestricted-access
after that, it says connecting to virtual console server but end up getting connection failed. this is using microsoft edge with

just to make it clear, on windows, I get all the way to the point where the java comes up and I accept the risk, then it says connecting to Virtual Console server but at the last minute, the connection failed message pops up.

Hello,
Can you try Native or (Active-X) and IE mode in Edge
https://dell.to/4hZbNu2
Support for iDRAC6 vConsole Java ended with the JRE 8 update 121.
However, for iDRAC6 users that want to leverage Java Plugin, client systems will require JRE 8 update 121 or earlier.

Thank you Charles,
when i try the native mode using the IE mode in edge, I get "Connecting to virtual console server" then a popup that says iDRAC6 virtual console: connection failed. I also downgraded java to 121 but doesn't make any difference.

When using java Add iDRAC to the Exception Site List in the Control Panel > Java > Security.
When using IE mode in Edge, verify web page is in “Trusted Sites” and security setting for zone is low or medium-low.
If trusted sites doesn’t work, do the same add it in local intranet zone.

Hi Chris,
so I was able to figure out what was the issue on my part. Now, I have the iso mapped in the client view in the java virtual media, when I use the Power menu to reboot the server (warm/cold -not sure if there matters). how do I go about hitting F11 so that it can go into install mode. I've been following this to map the iso:

Hello,
Try setting the First Boot device:
1 Open a supported Web browser window.
2 Log in to iDRAC6 Web interface.
3 In the system tree, select System > Setup > First Boot Device.
The First Boot Device screen is displayed.
Page 79-80
Or the Boot Once feature

I followed the below directions from the idrac6 enterprise user guide pdf:
To select the first boot device through the remote Web interface:
1 Open a supported Web browser window.
2 Log in to iDRAC6 Web interface.
3 In the system tree, select System-> Setup tab -> First Boot Device. The First Boot Device screen is displayed.
Table 2-3 lists the First Boot Device settings.
Table 2-3. First Boot Device
Attribute Description
First Boot Device: Select the first boot device from the drop-down will boot from the selected device on next and subsequent reboots.
Boot Once: Selected = Enabled; Deselected = Disabled. Check this option to boot from the selected device on the next boot. Thereafter, the system will boot from the first boot device in the BIOS boot order.
