OEM Event Filtering Enabled?

Does enabling OEM Event Filtering allow OEM event messages to be seen in the SEL or does it filter them out?

Hi Cameron, did anybody answer this, or did you figure it out? I'd also like to know if this stops them from coming in at all, or if they just filter them. I have lots of logs filling up with this alert, though there is that hotfix available.

I know this is an old forum thread, but I have the exact same question. I Google searched for "OEM Event Filtering Enabled" and there are no useful KBs or blogs, etc. The Dell iDRAC help is useless as well.

Does checking the box remove OEM messages, or pull them into the SEL log?

From a iDRAC6 pdf..... "Server Enabling/Disabling OEM Event Logs
The OEM event logs are displayed on the System Event Log page
automatically. The Advanced Settings button on the SystemsLogs tab
allows you to enable/disable the OEM event messages from the managed
system from appearing on the System Event Log page.
To disable the OEM Event Logs from appearing on the System Event Log
Page, select the OEM SEL Event Filter Enabled option.
NOTE: The the OEM SEL Event Filter Enabled option is not selected by default."
