offline - server manager not responding

I have tried this on two machines now and get the same problem.  I perform a new install of the Dell OpenManage Network Manager (1.1.0.1.121).  After the reboot, the server icon in the tray at the bottem has a circle with an "X" through it.  Both computers I have tried this at have 512mb or better RAM and several gig free hard drive space.  Any ideas?

It sounds like the appserver is not initializing or one of the services is not starting. Verify that both the "Dell Openmanage Network Manager" and "VERSANTDB" services are started.
 
If the systems on which you are installing this application have many other programs installed, they may be using ports needed by Network Manager. Network Manager requires specific ports and will not work if they are already open. It is recommended to install Network Manager on a fairly isolated system with few additional applications installed. For the list of ports needed by Network Manager, see the following thread:
