OM_5.4.0_Man_Node_A01.msp Install Fails (Windows Server 2008 x64)
I can't get the installer patch to load. Of course life would be easier if Dell released a proper version of OpenManage (with Windows Server 2008 x64 support).
Here are the instructions....
Applying the Service Pack
1.Double click on the MSP file or enter the following in a command-prompt window:
Msiexec.exe /p OM_5.4.0_Man_Node_A01.msp
And the error message...
Windows Installer
The upgrade patch cannot be installed by the Windows Installer because the program to be upgraded may be missing, or the upgrade patch may be a different version of the program. Verify that the program to be upgraded exists on your computer and that you have the correct upgrade patch.

Thanks for posting! What version of OMSA do you have installed? It sounds like you got the service pack file instead of the hard drive file. Go to the Drivers and Downloads page, look under Systems Management for Dell OpenManage Server Administrator Managed Node, and click More Download Options. Get the hard drive file and follow the instructions. If you already have OMSA installed, you'll need to uninstall the old version first. There is a video on the procedure at:

Thanks Jeff. I had OMSA 5.4.0 installed and I wanted to update it to 5.4.0.1. It turns out the problem was the infamous "User Account Control". I have another administrator account and I had not disabled UAC. When I ran the patch it did not give me the UAC nag prompt. I disabled UAC and the update worked. I also had issues with another server and disabling UAC solved the problem.
Also, the correct update I was trying to run was OM_5.4.0.1_Man_Node_Win_A00. Thanks.
